Kennett National Bank drive-in
receives an extreme makeover
July 9, Kennett National
Bank began construction
to improve the drive-thru
facility at 1004 First Street.
The 27-year-old bank drive-in
will be closed, as it gets
its extreme makeover —
converting it into a stand
alone branch with full banking
services. Construction is
expected to be completed
by Labor Day.
The project, designed by
The Crump Firm, and overseen
by NCBS, both of Memphis,
TN, reconfigures the existing
820 sq. ft. building and
adds an 120 additional square
feet to create 940 enclosed
sq. ft., with an additional
1667 sq. ft. under a canopy
for the drive-in and ATM.
The exterior’s sleek
update builds on the bank’s
original features of a 15’
barrel vaulted glass ceiling,
large aluminum mullioned
windows and stucco-like
drivet finish. The addition
boasts a glass entrance
tower on First Street, lobby,
teller area, private office
for checking and loan business,
four lane drive-in and new
ATM. Inside shades of cream,
silver, topaz and light
black will color walls,
carpeting and cabinetry.
Cherry molding and doors,
silver travertine marble
and a 12’ wall of
windows will brighten the
vestibule and lobby.
“We are very excited
about the new branch,”
says CEO David Dalton. “More
than looks alone, it will
make customers’ banking
experiences more convenient
and enjoyable. People can
conduct drive-thru business
as before, or go inside
for more detailed transactions
with a loan officer, personal
banker or teller. The branch
will also offer more flexible
hours.”
Teller, Vonda Stacey, drive-thru
supervisor for the last
decade, says, “It’s
going to be really nice.
You’ll get the same
great service you’ve
come to expect, but speedier.
We’re getting new
equipment, updated technology
and adding an employee.
Our customers will notice
an improvement in the speed
of service, especially at
busier times of month. And,
by being full service, they
can come inside for transactions
they used to have to go
to the other location to
complete.”
Kennett National Bank associate
Cole Baldwin adds “In
an effort to remain committed
to providing the best customer
service in the area, the
updated facility at 1004
First Street is going to
showcase a dependable and
simple to use drive up ATM.
This new machine will be
available 24 hours a day,
seven days a week to handle
your deposits, transfers
and withdraws. But don't
forget about KNB's other
convenient ATM locations
— in front of the
Murphy Oil gas station in
Kennett and at Kampus Korner
in Senath. At Kennett National
Bank, we appreciate your
business and remain committed
to providing.
The building project, is
being overseen by NCBS of
Memphis. The firm specializes
in designing and building,
banks, credit unions and
financial institutions.
NCBS project manager Glenn
Coyle states, “NCBS’
strength lies in our over
2700 bank builds we have
completed in our company’s
history. In the last 2 years
we have completed five traditional
branch remodels, and 15
in-store remodels, while
keeping the facilities in
operation. Things we look
at are functional efficiencies,
brand integration, finish
upgrades and green building
issues.”
Coyle continues, “Kennett
National Bank and NCBS partnered
together to find the most
economical solution to do
three main things: allow
KNB to realize operational
cost saving by closing the
majority of their larger
traditional branch bank
facility during holidays
and extended hours, provide
KNB’s customer base
with extended weekend hours,
and create a facility that
shows KNB’s commitment
to the community.
